Approaching Peak: drinkable, but best years are ahead.

In 2026 the wine is just entering its peak window. The Cabernet Franc aromatics (red plum, tobacco, herbs, and forest floor) are well-defined, and the firm tannins are softening. Decant 60-90 minutes for best current expression. There are nearly a decade of peak ahead.

The 17 Rapszodia.

A 100% Cabernet Franc from one of Yountville's most precise estates: aromatic, structured, and built for the long arc.

Tasting note

Medium-deep ruby. The nose lifts with red plum, dried tobacco leaf, and a distinct forest-floor and dried-herb edge that is the Cabernet Franc signature. The palate is medium-to-full-bodied with fine-grained tannins (7/10) and bright acidity (7/10) that keeps the wine vibrant. Red cherry, plum, and a savory herbal undertow run through the mid-palate. The finish is long, perfumed, and finishes on a note of warm earth and tobacco.

The 2017 vintage

2017 in Yountville produced structured, age-worthy wines despite the late-season heat events of the broader Napa vintage. Estates with rigorous farming and cooler microclimates particularly benefited from the vintage's intensity.

From the cellar: pair with

Roast duck with cherry-port reduction

Duck's richness and the cherry sauce align with the wine's red fruit, and the gentle gaminess echoes the wine's tobacco and forest-floor notes.

Herb-crusted lamb chops with wild mushroom risotto

Lamb and herbs meet the wine's herbal Cabernet Franc signature; the mushroom risotto cushions the still-firm tannins.

Aged cheddar with fig jam

Sharp cheddar and the wine's structure meet directly; the fig brings out the wine's red-fruit notes.
