Drinking Window

In 2026: At Peak

In the heart of its drinking window (2024–2036).

2022PEAK 202420362042

Right now: In 2026 the wine is firmly inside its peak window. The polished tannins have integrated and the dense fruit is well-defined, with secondary notes of cocoa, cedar, and warm spice emerging. Decant 60-90 minutes for best current expression. There are 10+ years of peak ahead.

Tasting Note

Deep ruby-purple. The nose lifts with cassis, black plum, and a polished cedar-and-cocoa edge from the new French oak. The palate is full-bodied with firm but integrating tannins (8/10) and balanced acidity. Cassis, black cherry, dried herbs, and a savory iron-and-mineral undertow run through the mid-palate. The finish is long, structured, and finishes on a note of dark chocolate and warm stone.

The 2014 Vintage

2014 in Napa Valley was a structured vintage with the kind of architecture that rewards a decade or more of cellaring. Top Yountville and Stags Leap District estates released wines from 2014 with strong aging potential.
