At Peak: in the heart of its drinking window (2024-2036).
In 2026 the wine is firmly inside its peak window. The polished tannins have integrated and the dense fruit is well-defined, with secondary notes of cocoa, cedar, and warm spice emerging. Decant 60-90 minutes for best current expression. There are 10+ years of peak ahead.
The ‘14 State Lane Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Grand-Vin.
The estate flagship Cabernet from one of Yountville's most precise estates: dense, mineral, and just hitting full peak.

Tasting note
Deep ruby-purple. The nose lifts with cassis, black plum, and a polished cedar-and-cocoa edge from the new French oak. The palate is full-bodied with firm but integrating tannins (8/10) and balanced acidity. Cassis, black cherry, dried herbs, and a savory iron-and-mineral undertow run through the mid-palate. The finish is long, structured, and finishes on a note of dark chocolate and warm stone.
The 2014 vintage
2014 in Napa Valley was a structured vintage with the kind of architecture that rewards a decade or more of cellaring. Top Yountville and Stags Leap District estates released wines from 2014 with strong aging potential.

From the cellar: pair with
Dry-aged porterhouse with bone marrow butter
The wine's polished structure and dark fruit meet the steak's char head-on; the marrow softens the firm tannins.
Braised lamb shank with rosemary and red wine
Long-cooked lamb's depth aligns with the wine's secondary herbal notes; the wine reduction creates a flavor bridge to the dark fruit.
Aged cheddar with walnut bread
Sharp aged cheddar meets the wine's structure directly; the walnut echoes the wine's cocoa and cedar notes.
